The story of a French peasant woman, 1900-1984, whose life was affected by

both WWI and the German Occupation during WWII. Interwoven is a rather unusual love story. This novel is based partly on the life of the old lady who lived in the house at the end

of the lane in the Morvan, where I have my own farmhouse.
